Interclub competitions are held annually, usually in July and August. 

 

Interclubs are a great opportunity for Members to practise performing in front of an audience, self-assess how you are progressing with the syllabus and "match fitness" and are a great way to prepare for the upcoming competition season. 

 

Interclubs involve a small number of clubs (usually 4 – 6) and Members compete in their age group or section in heats of about 10-14 girls.

 

Judges are required to have completed the APDA judging course and the APDA judging system is used. Places are awarded to each heat.

Randwick competes in a minimum of two interclub's each year. Most years we host our own interclub, as well as entering 'away' competitions hosted by other Clubs.

 

When we host an interclub it is the major fundraiser for our Club. We call for volunteers to help out on the day with tasks such as canteen, selling raffle tickets, BBQ duty, marshalling... just to name a few!

At an interclub competition, APDA rules and codes of conduct apply. Some key points are:

- All competitors must wear an approved APDA leotard 

- No teasing of hair, no tanning and only minimal makeup for Juniors (up until 12 years)

- No flowers, feathers, glitter, diamantes, wigs or hats are permitted
